From an original production date of 1964 this Triumph TR4 was first registered in California in 1965. The vehicle is shown in its original Colour/Code 32 (Signal Red), the car displays its original black vinyl interior and hood. This iconic 1960’s Triumph comes with its original 4 cylinder, 2.2L engine and transmission giving an impressive 100 horsepower at 4600rpm for that period. The vehicle had an after market anti-roll bar behind the seats to the hood which we have removed (remains with the car) and a fitted rear luggage rack, still shown.
From the vehicle document, it shows that the car was last registered and driven near Sacramento, California in 1976 (yes, over 40 years ago!), over the years being garage stored and later transferred to various warehouse storage locations, we have had the vehicle since 2014. Although the original plates were returned on export, the registration displayed a very appropriate ‘TR465’.
The vehicle price is offered to original, restoration standard, to collect from Guernsey. The potential buyer can work with us to amend the specifications to their requirements during restoration. Functional parts are not included in the works but can be changed if required, with the price being adjusted accordingly. Our terms are quite simple, requiring one third of the price to secure the vehicle, one third after any fabrication and painting, the final payment prior to road testing and valeting. Photos of all works will be forwarded throughout the project.
In recent times we have replaced the oils and fluids, turned the engine by hand before firing and starting up. This car is incredibly solid, all original panels with just body corrections required on the rear right wing and front lower valance. Our current price list on parts (mostly interior, seals, hood) is close to £4000 alone. We are aware that the car shows the rare original option, 48 Lace Wire Wheels in the original Matte Silver with Chrome Spinners, we are happy to work with the new owner to either have these professionally refurbished or replaced with modern equivalents incorporated in the offer price. We feel that this car is so original that once painted with all new or polished shiny chrome, interior and fitments that this car is going to look amazing and really show the difference between other restorations that have had replacement panels and fabrication!
The vehicle is currently located in our warehouse in Guernsey, we are happy to help with worldwide shipping or short term, owner’s risk storage free for the first six months and available to extend to a longer term if required.
