1970 Porsche 911E Targa LHD

From a production date of February 1970, this C Series, 911E Coupe has a 2.2L engine, fitted to Mechanical Fuel Injection which produced an impressive 155 horsepower at 6200rpm. This USA model car has an original, much sought after, listed Colour/Code 2310 (Tangerine), and lists, original Black Leatherette with Corduroy inlays interior from a year production of only 933 vehicles. The ‘Letter of Origin’ shows the car was originally supplied to Porsche Cars, New York from new. The vehicle was factory optioned with Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio.

This car is offered to full require restoration with some surface rust, requiring replacement missing panels, glass and interior but does show to be still retaining the fundalmently of the originally matching number engine, offered as shown this car shows years of neglect, although in recent years has just sat in warehouses by the virtue of being a matching numbers project car. The Letter of Origin shows the car retains its original Matching Number engine 6201320 and transmission supplied from new. Although this car today is a project vehicle, it is candidate with full potential to restore and transform to original, being a much in demand, early Long Wheel Base (LWB) Porsche. The C Series, 911E 1970, was a very strong performance car with a powertrain of the 155bhp engine, known for not being as quick as the 911S off the mark but very capable of catching up at higher speed, the ‘E’ (Einspritzung /injection) specification on early 911’s is in our opinion a very underestimated car from just that shear grunt pushing this car with the newly factory optioned, mechanical fuel injection being more upbeat than the former weber carburettor setups.
