From a production date of July 1970, this C Series, 911E Coupe has a 2.2L engine, fitted to Mechanical Fuel Injection which produced an impressive 155 horsepower at 6200rpm. This USA model car is shown painted in its original listed Colour/Code 1818 (Albert Blue), and retains its original Black Leatherette with Pepita interior from a year production of 1,304 vehicles. The ‘Letter of Origin’ shows the car was originally supplied to Porsche Cars, San Antonio from new. The vehicle was factory optioned with Antenna and Coloured Windows which both look to be still showing.
This car is offered to require restoration with some surface rust, but from an overall, solid car that shows years of neglect, being shuffled around over the last 30 years without being road driven, our records suggest since June 1989! The vehicle shows and retains its original Matching Number engine 6202397 and transmission 7701644 supplied from new. Although this car today shows many years of warehouse storage it does show a very original, complete candidate for the full potential to restore and transform to original, being a much in demand, early Long Wheel Base (LWB) Porsche. The C Series, 911E 1970, was a very strong performance car with a powertrain of the 155bhp engine, known for not being as quick as the 911S off the mark but very capable of catching up at higher speed, the ‘E’ (Einspritzung /injection) specification on early 911’s is in our opinion a very underestimated car from just that shear grunt pushing this car with the newly factory optioned, mechanical fuel injection being more upbeat than the former weber carburettor setups.
