1969 Porsche 911S RHD Targa

From a production date of July 1969, this B Series, 911S Targa represents being completely correct and original, being a delight, converted from Left to Right Hand drive, from a production year of 614 vehicles. It is shown to a close Colour/Code 6824 (Canary Yellow) match from its original production Colour/Code 6803 (Ossi Blue), and shows a period correct Black Leatherette interior. The Letter of Origin shows the car was originally supplied to Burlingame, California from new. The car later underwent the very correct Right Hand Drive conversion in Australia complying strictly to the regions automotive regulations.

This car is considered to be in good order, recently under going a light engine/transmission out refurbishment, the vehicle’s original Matching Number engine 6392033 and Transmission 7198372 have been replaced by year correct, numbers matching engine/transmission being 6391381 and matching transmission. The car today is a very free spirited vehicle coming from the recent drivetrain refurbishment, the car is however just out of some years of warehouse storage and may require a few hundred miles of driving to bed back in – we registered this car in 2016 in Guernsey.

1969 was the last year of the 2.0L engines with the ‘S’ offering a very impressive 170 horse power at 6800 rpm (my favourite, sweetest, pre 1973 engine from Porsche!), and the, much in demand, first edition Long Wheel Base (LWB) Porsche.

What makes this car very special is the first factory Right Hand Drive Targa only started full production in September 1972 – there are known RHD Targas made to special order (exports) in earlier year. I in fact own the only known RHD factory 1969 Targa, so our knowledge and understanding of this vehicle is probably better than others.
