POA.
From a production date of April 1969, this B Series, 911S Coupe is originally manufactured to United Kingdom specification and is as such Right Hand Drive, from a production year of 1,492 vehicles it is believed less than 30 came to the UK with little more than 10 UK specification models still in roadworthy existence. It is shown in its original, most desirable, Colour/Code 6802 (Polo Red), and the car clearly has been altered to replicate 1972/73 models but the basic fundamentals of the body remain intact, admittedly the interior, although practical but not original, is believed from a later 1974/75 model but not unreasonably difficult to revert back to the correct year/model specification. The Certificate of Authenticity shows the car was originally supplied to the United Kingdom (believed Porsche Isleworth), the vehicle was supplied with Head Rest on Left Seat, Rear Wiper (not showing, but shows existence of a wiring loom on the rear engine hood), and Erased Steering Hub.
This car is offered to require bodywork restoration from surface rusting. The vehicle’s original Matching Number engine 6391410 and Transmission 7195693 were supplied with the vehicle from new. Today the vehicle is offered with an engine/transmission combination from a European, 1972 911T (non mechanical injection), it is noted that the car has invoices for close to £20,000 relating to engine rebuilding, carburettor change to a triple Weber setup from this engine types (Tin) Zenith, and drivetrain works all within the last 3,000 miles although this does relate to over 7 years. The current wheels are Fuchs dated 9/71 with the inserts and rears repainted black. In 2016 the vehicle was tested, registered to a Guernsey number plate and considered to in roadworthy order – copies the original UK vehicle document are still held. Within the last few weeks both the car’s batteries were renewed and the vehicle started and fired up; admittedly the throttle linkage is sticking a little and was driven several car lengths forwards and backwards without any noticeable problems.
Although this car today shows many years of warehouse storage and cosmetic alterations it does show the full potential to restore and transform to an original, last of the 2.0L engines, offering a very impressive 170 horse power at 6800 rpm (my favourite, sweetest, pre 1973 engine from Porsche!), and the much in demand, first edition Long Wheel Base (LWB) Porsche, or could remain with its current engine/transmission form as a daily or show driver. We believe this car does offer a very creditable restoration project and would attract considerable interest with a price premium on its rare, Right Hand Drive production. The vehicle is currently located in storage on Jersey with a recent video clip of the engine shown running, we are happy to help with worldwide shipping, or short term owner’s risk storage free for the first six months and available to extend to a longer term if required. If car was to be transferred onto our Guernsey warehouse it would be at a minimum agreed cost.
